Welcome to the Centre of African Studies (CAS)
The Centre of African Studies at The University of Edinburgh is the hub for African Studies in Scotland. Our staff are widely published and highly regarded.
Our students prepare for careers in academia and beyond: two former students featured in a recent ‘top 50 influential Scots’ newspaper feature.
Our centre has strong links with the Scottish Parliament, NGOs and major educational and cultural organisations in Africa and Scotland.
The Centre of African Studies core activities include teaching and supervising, seminars, conferences and workshops, and scholarships.
