Founded in 1982, the Latin American Jewish Studies Association (LAJSA) encourages scholarly research on Latin American Jewry as an element in the study of Latin American ethnicity, and as a branch of Jewish Studies. LAJSA promotes scholarship concerning the Jewish experience in Latin America through research, publication, and teaching at universities, colleges, and other research centers.
Fundada en 1982, la Asociación de Estudios Judaicos Latinoamericanos (LAJSA) fomenta la investigación académica sobre el judaísmo latinoamericano como elemento de estudio de la etnicidad latinoamericana y como ramo de estudios judaicos. LAJSA promueve el estudio de la experencia judía en América latina a través de la investigación, publicación y enseñanza en las universidades y otros centros de investigación.
Fundada em 1982, a Associação de Estudos Judaicos Latino-Americanos (LAJSA) é uma entidade destinada a fomentar pesquisas sobre a comunidade e a cultura judaica latino-americanas como partes da sociedade latino-americana em geral, e também como um ramo no campo de estudos judaicos. LAJSA promove pesquisas sobre a experiência judaica na América Latina através de investigações, publicações e ensino nas universidades, em outros centros de pesquisa.
