The Centre for Medieval Studies

The Centre for Medieval Studies was established in 1997 and became operational in 1998. Its Director from 1997 to mid 2007 was Professor Margaret Clunies Ross. Since then Associate Professor John Pryor has been Director.

The Centre exists to promote all aspects of the study of, and research on, the civilization of medieval Europe and its neighbours to the north, east, and south. It offers a Major in Undergraduate Medieval Studies consisting of courses which it offers itself and others offered in various departments which are cross-accredited to Medieval Studies. It also offers IVth-year Honours in Medieval Studies and also an M.Phil and Ph.D. by research.
